Who am I?

I'm a Christian first and foremost. After that I'm a husband and father. I also happen to be a musician, production music composer, a live sound engineer, and a music teacher. I've been playing drums for almost 30 years, piano/keyboards for 15+ years, and I do okay on rhythm guitar and bass.

From my senior year of high school in 2007 until 2009, I studied at the Lexington School for Recording Arts in Lexington, KY. It was here that I learned about recording, editing, and mixing in both analog and digital realms, as well as live sound production.

In 2014 I enrolled at the University of Louisville School of Music where I studied jazz under the tutelage of some of the region's best jazz players. I graduated with high honors in 2017 with a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Drumset Performance.

In the fall of 2018 I began teaching drumset and keyboard at School of Rock Louisville. In 2021 I was promoted to Assistant Music Director. Now in my 6th year at the school, I continue to teach 5 days a week, both individual lessons as well as various groups.

What do I use?

I use different drum sets for different purposes. For most of my gigs I'll load up the Whitney Drums Purple Penguins.

The cymbals that I tyipically pair with the Penguins are the Bosphorus Lyric Series Ari Hoenig Signature Ride, the Istanbul Agop Series Mel Lewis Signature Ride, the Sabian HH Series Flat Bell Ride, and the Paiste Signature Series Dark Crisp Hi Hats.
